Splish Splash in my favorite Disney pools!

It is snow(?) day number 5 here is Loudoun County which has gotten us thinking about what all of us would rather be doing…swimming, swimming in a Disney pool!

Disney pools are way more than your average pool- complete with unique theming, amazing water features, and even in one- Nemo’s voice to entertain you under the sea; they are a theme park experience in itself. Since partaking in an adult beverage is one of my most favorite Disney pastimes; all of these options include the best poolside concoctions to sip while you watch your little ones paddle in the pools!

I recommend to all of my clients to at least take one day to enjoy their resort pool because some of my earliest memories of my Walt Disney World experiences consist of splashing around in my big princess floaties! My own children often ask- “when can we go back and swim in the pool?”

Here is a run down approved by my 3 mini Disney divas of the best pools on Walt Disney World property!

#3- Disney’s Art of Animation Resort: The Big Blue Pool is the largest hotel pool at the Walt Disney World Resort at 11,859 feet and filled with 310,000 gallons of water. It is a truly immersive experience that includes listening to your favorite Disney songs while swimming under the sea! This zero entry pool is kid heaven where they are able to splash and play as they relive the story of their favorite clown fish. For the tiniest of swimmers; there is an adorable Schoolyard Sprayground which includes pop-up jets, gushing water, and more! Convenient for the parents; there is the Drop Off pool bar located nearby where you can order a Poolside Plunge or a Captain’s Man Tai. Along wth the resort’s very popular family suites; this fantastic pool makes it one of my most popular bookings for families and multi-gen families traveling together.

#2- Disney’s Polynesian Resort: The Lava Pool was refurbished in 2015 to include their popular volcano and water slide as well as an expanded pool deck to include more seating. There is a fantastic Kiki Tikis Splash play area for the younger guests that offers 2 slides, wading pools, and waterfalls. The Barefoot Pool Bar is a great place to grab a Lapu Lapu tropical drink complete with its pineapple cup. The Polynesian pool is a great spot to take in all of the island feels!

#1- Disney’s Beach and Yacht Club Resorts and the Four Seasons Orlando: Tied for #1 are both amazing resorts and my family’s vote as the best pools on property; The Four Seasons Orlando and Disney’s Beach Club Resort. The differences between the 2 resorts would depend on your preferences as to what vacation experience is best for your family.

Stormalong Bay is a 3 acre aquatic wonderland situated between Disney’s Beach and Yacht Club Resorts. Home to its own shipwreck replica and a 230-ft- long waterslide; it also includes a lazy river and sandy beach for your littles to build their own version of Cinderella’s Castle. Parents are able to grab a lounge chair and sunbath while sipping on either a Storm Chaser or Sunshine Margarita from Hurricane’s Hanna’s Waterside Bar and Grill.

At the Four Seasons Orlando; the Family Pool offers a beach entry which makes it very easy for young swimmers to navigate the waters however the Explorer Island area is where the Four Seasons gets the vote from my mini Disney divas. It is packed with family friendly fun that includes a Splash Zone, Lazy River, and the Drop. If competition is your family’s game then there is beach volleyball, hoops, outdoor tennis, and pool tables. Our favorite pool side bar and grill is located here- PB&G offers not only the most delicious cocktails but some of the best food that we’ve had on property. So make sure you “Swizzle In and Stagger Out” of the Four Seasons Orlando.
